Why Should I Attend?

The Digital Orthodontist Live! Meeting 2020 was the first-ever live, virtual, and interactive meeting for orthodontists and their teams. We had over 2,000 people tune in to learn how to serve their patients and grow their practices while prioritizing their own mental health during a global pandemic. Since that inspiring meeting in April, many orthodontic practices have bounced back. It hasn’t been easy, though! As we approach another year of uncertainty in 2021, how can we continue to build the best orthodontic practice possible?

Find out on April 8-9, as we present The Digital Orthodontist Live! Meeting 2021! We’ll still be live, virtual, and interactive, but this year’s event will come with a twist—instead of connecting via laptop, our group of speakers will be flying to Memphis to present LIVE from the home of Dr. Kyle Fagala. Join us as we collaborate once again on how to improve every aspect of our practices during tumultuous times, and offer practical and relevant solutions that will allow us to thrive in 2021— and beyond!

Meet the Speakers

Dr. Cole Johnson

How to Speak Cole

Bio

Dr. Johnson is as unique as he is intriguing...some things you may not know about one of all our favorite Orthodontic speakers:

He loves children. Like, probably too much. He has 8 kids of his own...at least as far as we know.

His pastimes include hanging out at crosswalks, volunteering as a photographer for local swim teams, and slowly smelling bottles of fancy shampoo in the aisles of Bed, Bath, & Beyond.

Dr. Johnson has an array of talents! He leads a men’s tumbling troupe and boasts the ability to eat his weight in birdseed. This frisky Capricorn wields a firm command of the Klingon, Na’avi, as well as MS Dos languages. He was the Multnomah County Athletic Club’s 2012 Pilates Instructor of the Year and is a 3-Time Mavis Beacon ‘Shirts n’Skins Speed-Typing’ Champion.

Dr. Johnson considers his greatest accomplishment to be the time he ate his standard lunch of 1/2 cup skim Cottage Cheese off the stomach of a guy who kind of looks like well-known B-list actor, Jason Bateman.

Considered a thought-leader in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Stuart L. Frost is a lecturer, consultant, and practitioner with over two decades of experience creating truly beautiful smiles using emerging technologies and progressive techniques. He is widely known as the “artist orthodontist,” a reputation he has gained by creating wide, aesthetically pleasing smiles for each of his patients, no matter how challenging the case.

Dentistry is a tradition in the Frost Family, and Dr. Frost’s passion for dentistry and orthodontics started at a young age while watching his father work. As a teenager, he experienced braces himself and fell in love with the idea of creating beautiful smiles for others as his father had done for him. After years of schooling, fellowship, and real-world experience, Dr. Frost is now one of the industry’s leading experts in innovative and artistic orthodontics.

Dr. Frost is highly involved in the industry, giving him a front-row seat to innovation, technology, and change in the global orthodontic community. Dr. Courtney Barry

Bio

Dr. Courtney Barry is a board certified orthodontist who practices in the heart of New York City. Schooling took her from her home state of Illinois to Florida first, but then residency training at Montefiore Medical Center ultimately transplanted her to NYC. Falling in love with the hustle of the Big Apple - and meeting the love of her life - kept her there. Her practice, Smile Pop, is a retail orthodontic storefront practice that was created with the intent to be approachable, down to earth, and accessible to help people achieve their dream of that perfect smile and give them the boost of confidence they've been searching for. At Smile Pop, her goal is to be the best part of a person’s day and make each day feel like a blessing.

Dr. Chris Feldman

The Mullet Mentality

Bio

Dr. Chris Feldman is a Louisiana native and graduate of LSU Dental School and Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics. He owns and operates two offices that he started from scratch. A little less than six years ago, Dr. Feldman opened his first office in New Iberia, Louisiana (home of Tabasco Sauce), and around 4 years ago opened up a second location in the small, growing town of Youngsville, Louisiana. Dr. Feldman is proud of the culture he's built, how he's utilized social media to grow the practice, his low overhead, and the zero turnover he's experienced since opening, as his team isn’t “like” family, they are family.

Dr. Feldman has always said that orthodontics is his passion and his family is his purpose. Dr. Feldman's wife, Krysta, and he (who met in Las Vegas while he was at a bachelor party) have a 2 and a half year old son named Ollie and a 5 month old daughter named Emma. According to Dr. Feldman, "Those 3 are my world and everything I do is to benefit them either directly or indirectly. At the end of the day, my main goal in life is to keep them safe and make them proud." In his free time, Dr. Feldman is a diehard Saints fan, and he's really into fitness, hanging with friends, hosting other orthos at his office, traveling, food tours, visiting other offices, binge watching Netflix series, and trying new things. Whatever it is, chances are good he'll try it at least once!! As far as Dr. Feldman's practice goes, his goals are to stay motivated and to continue to improve clinically while maintaining the positive relationships he has with his patients and team.

Bryan Lockhart

How Digital Orthodontics Saved My Practice: Surviving a Complete Clinical Assistant Turnover All at Once!

Bio

Dr. Lockhart is a Board Certified orthodontist with two orthodontic offices in Charlotte, NC where he practices with his wife and fellow orthodontist, Dr. Lauren Rennick Lockhart. Originally from Decatur, GA, Dr. Lockhart attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for dental school. He attended a 1 year General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center before obtaining his Certificate in Orthodontics from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville FL. Dr. Lockhart furthered his learning by attending Jacobi Medical Center in New York for an Orthodontic/ Orthognathic Surgical Fellowship.

Dr. Lockhart is well versed in fixed appliances as well clear aligners. He has developed his own clear aligner brand, Dualine, using in house aligners which he lectures on. Dr. Lockhart has an issued patent on LockOn, a device used to facilitate orthognathic surgery on patients undergoing clear aligner therapy. He also has a patent pending on CAStrack, a software used to track and organize in-house aligner patients as well as other digital modalities. His professional memberships include AAO, SAO and NCAO, the latter of which he is a member of the executive board. Dr. Lockhart is an avid sports junky and loves spending time with his 3 young children Bryce (5), Blake (3) and Brynn (18 months)!

Dr. Shane Langley

Treating Tough Cases Esthetically and Efficiently

Bio

Dr. Shane Langley graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a DMD and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He earned his orthodontic certificate and master’s degree from the University of Alabama in 2009. Dr. Langley’s speaking interests include the use of TADs to aid in the successful treatment of complex malocclusions, the bio-mechanical techniques and principles that accompany treatment with TADs, non-compliance correction of various malocclusions, and aesthetic orthodontics. Dr. Langley has practiced orthodontics full time in Daphne, Alabama, since 2009 and has served various positions on the faculty of the orthodontic department at the University of Alabama. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, as well as local dental and orthodontic associations.

Dr. Langley will share how he differentiated his practice to a patient centric focus while providing outstanding treatment outcomes. This involves maintaining the orthodontic specialty through excellence in treatment and providing value added services that help raise the bar for his patients. With the shift to esthetic demands form our patients, orthodontists no longer need to sacrifice clinical success for esthetic treatment. Vertical control and intra-arch protraction and retraction cases using TAD's will be presented along with topics around Class II corrections and cuspid substitution.

Dr. Candice Coleman

Be the Best Associate, Become the Best Partner

Bio

Dr. Candice Coleman is originally from Seattle, Washington, but went to dental school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2006, deciding to stay in Tennessee ever since. Dr. Candice completed Orthodontics residency at UT as well and is currently practicing in Clarksville, TN as a partner at About Faces and Braces. She owns 4 practice locations with her partner Dr. Shawn Lehman-Grimes. Dr. Coleman's husband, Burton, is an Endodontist and together they have 4 kiddos that keep them busy! Candice is very involved in the Clarksville community and holds several leadership roles in local organizations such as the Clarksville Rotary Club, Austin Peay State University, and her church.

Hi, my name is Nicole Wax. I am an Orthodontist in Michigan. I attended Michigan State University for undergrad, The Ohio State University for Dental School, and the University of Detroit Mercy for Orthodontic residency. I opened my practice right out of residency in my home town of ~4,000 people. We have accomplished major goals and achievements in a short prior of time. After receiving her DDS with highest honors from the Ohio State University, Dr. Lisa Alvetro completed her residency at Case Western Reserve University where she is now an Associate Clinical Professor, teaching Practice Management. She has been in private practice for over 23 years. She is an internationally recognized expert in her field and has been invited to give over 200 lectures worldwide. To further advance the science of orthodontics, Alvetro Orthodontics partners with researchers from various universities in the US and Italy to study the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment techniques. These collaborative efforts result in the creation of scientific documents that are published in orthodontic journals.

Dr. Jeff Kozlowski

Finish On Time, Everytime: The Secrets to Clinical Efficiency

Bio

Dr. Kozlowski graduated with a BS in Economics from Syracuse University prior to receiving his DDS and Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has been published in numerous orthodontic journals, including Seminars in Orthodontics, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, Clinical Impressions and The Progressive Orthodontist. An avid cyclist and endurance athlete, he has completed the Ironman Triathlon 5 times and the grueling Mt. Washington Bicycle Hillclimb 10 times. Dr. Kozlowski has practices in New London and East Lyme, CT where he lives with his wife, Amy, a pediatric dentist, and their two children.
